not the same as other people (especially if they have been diabetic for many years). chest pain is frequently absent.

instead, look for shortness of breath, sweating, feeling faint, pain in the jaw or shoulders, nausea, and especially a combination of the above.

the most important things to remember are that heart attacks are not always dramatic- most start slow, and the symptoms come and go. diabetics are notorious for having “silent heart attacks” because the heart pain nerves become damaged from the diabetes.

Being diabetic I had no clue till artery was blocked up to 99% & it followed by massive attack. So was the case with my mother who also was diabetic & was taken to hospital because of severe back pain.Lost life before diagnosis, again due to heart failure.
So diabetics have to anticipate probable heart plus any other ailments & undergo health checkups at regular intervals.

Most often the symptoms of a heart attack are shortness of breath chest pressure or tightness, heavy sweating, nausea numbness of the left arm or jaw.

Now you are female and women don’t always show the classical symptoms and add to the fact that you are Diabetic even makes it more difficult to show the classical symptoms. I say this about Diabetics because there is strong correlation with Diabetes and Heart Disease. Another interesting issue is that, many Diabetics develop a Neuropathy ( decreased sensation) throughout their body so they don’t show the classical symptoms.

I really suggest that you see your physician as soon as possible and let him/her know that the symptoms that you are feeling.

Good luck and get in to see your doctor!
